Invitation fra arrangørerne

Invitation to members of the employees and clients of  Rhetor to attend the UK Speechwriters’ Guild/ European Speechwriter Network annual conference 2012.

The UK Speechwriters’ Guild hosts an annual conference at the Bournemouth University Media school to share knowledge, make contacts and refresh our skills.
Our next conference will be on Thursday 20/ Friday 21 September 2012. Through our conferences we’ve made many contacts across Europe, and we are particularly proud of our connection with Denmark.

The theme of the conference is ‘Do Speeches Still Matter?’ and the Guild has invited an international array of speakers to attend. The conference will open with Chris Witt, a California-based speechwriter and trainer, who wrote the controversial book Real Leaders Don’t Do PowerPoint followed by Dr Max Atkinson, a former speechwriter for Lord Ashdown, and author of Lend Me Your Ears.

Among our international speakers we will have Jan Sliva, speechwriter to the President of the European Investment Bank, who will speak on ‘Lost in Translation’, outlining the pitfalls European leaders face when speaking English as a foreign language.  We also have Christian Nicholas Eversbusch, from Rhetor in Denmark, speaking about demagoguery.

Piers Letcher, speechwriter a UN agency speechwriter will close the conference. During his career, he’s written for Ban Ki-moon, the UN Secretary-General, Carlos Slim and Nelson Mandela.

There will be many more speakers and seminars at the conference.

We’re very keen to maintain and further build our links with Rhetor in Denmark.
We’d like to offer a £50 discount on the delegate fee to any employee or client of Rhetor who receives this email. Just put ‘Rhetor’ into the promotion code box to claim your reduction.
